Carter Bank & Trust to Begin Re-Opening Lobbies with 38 Branches on July 6

Community CARE Posted on June 29, 2020

We Can’t Wait to See You!

On March 23, Carter Bank & Trust announced that we would be closing our lobbies and directing account transactions to the drive-thru or by appointment only in the interest of the health and safety of our customers and our employees.

We thank our customers and our employees for their patience and cooperation as we navigate the “new normal” together.

We’re Re-Opening Some of Our Branch Lobbies on July 6!

Almost three months later, as our state and local governments begin to gradually re-open businesses, we made the decision to re-open 38 strategically located branch lobbies for walk-in service. We can’t wait to see you!

These branches will be operating as business as usual. In addition, we are re-opening the branches that are being consolidated with nearby locations to help customers and employees begin the consolidation process.

All other branches will maintain Drive-Thru service & Lobby service by appointment only until further notice. Hours may vary based on location.

What Customers Need to Know

One of our highest priorities is the health of our staff, customers, and the well-being of the communities we serve. We plan to open select branches, closely following federal, state, and local social distancing guidelines. Customers are encouraged to continue to set appointments for service at their convenience.

We ask customers to be prepared to follow social distancing guidelines upon entry to the branch and to be transparent about their health if a visitor wellness check is requested.

Here are a few other things to keep in mind:

Not Feeling Well?

If you, or someone you know is feeling under the weather, consider conducting your transaction in our drive-thru or using Carter on the Go for mobile and online banking.

Wear a Mask

Both Virginia and North Carolina Governors issued executive orders requiring employees and customers to wear masks while inside our branches. Disposable masks are available upon request. Exceptions for each state can be found here:

Practice Good Hygiene

Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol or hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer will be available at all branches.

Use Floor Decals for Social Distancing

The CDC recommends individuals maintain 6 feet between you and the person next to you. We have placed floor decals in all of our branch lobbies to provide guidance. Please use these to maintain distance.

Set an Appointment

For your convenience, we are still inviting customers to set an appointment for service. Call your local branch to set up an appointment for service. You will be asked to answer a few questions about your health and wellness.

Crowded Lobby?

Use Carter on the Go to conduct your transactions or come back another time that is most convenient for you!

Caring is What We’ll Always Do Best!

We thank you, again, for your patience and cooperation with us as we begin to re-open to the public. If you have any questions or concerns, we’re only a phone call away! Contact one of our banking specialists at the Customer Contact Center today: 833.ASK.CBAT
