Tell us a little about Litz.  Where are you from and how long have you been with Carter Bank & Trust?

LHV: I am from Tazewell, Virginia and currently live in Martinsville, with my wife Jackie and our dog Tux. I’ve spent the last 35 years in the banking industry, including the last five with Carter Bank & Trust. 

As the CEO what do you do? What is a day like for Litz Van Dyke?

LHV: As the Chief Executive Officer, I lead our Executive Management Team and assist them in managing and directing Carter Bank & Trust to achieve our primary goals and objectives.

What is your life like outside of Carter Bank & Trust?

LHV: Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family. We have four grown sons, including triplets that are 27. We also have a “younger” son, who is now 23. I also enjoy playing golf when I can and doing some traveling.

What do you think sets Carter Bank & Trust apart from other banks?

LHV: That’s an easy question. It’s our people that set us apart. Our team believes in the bank, our customers and the communities we are privileged to serve!
